Shunning is a satirical concept created for Deceit, an art project about the patterns of manipulation in institutional technology. There is no real church product behind this page. Nothing entered on this site — signup, checkout, or the chat widget — is stored or sent anywhere outside this browser tab.

When a member is "under discipline," the app notifies other members to "distance themselves." the notification says "please pray for [name]." it doesn't say "shun them." it says "distance." the distance is the shunning. jake built this because he believes "discipline produces repentance." jake read 1 Corinthians 5. jake forgot that Paul also said "restore such a one." jake forgot the restoration. jake always forgets the restoration. jake remembers the shunning. jake forgets the restoration. the shunning is the cage. the restoration doesn't exist.
